There have been a considerable amount of mysteries and theories surrounding the death of Hitler. We think we have the answers, but do we?
His Last Days
In the face of an oncoming siege of Berlin, Hitler took refuge in his personal bunker on January 16th. Hitler, with several others including Eva Braun, his long-time lover, lived in the bunker for 105 days. On January 30th, Hitler aired a speech on the radio to German people, calling them to be strong and do their utmost to fight the Jews, who he claimed were trying to undermine all of Germany. This would be his last public speech. It is reported that Hitler became progressively mad throughout his days in the bunker. Hitler married Eva Braun on April 29th, and the next day, both committed suicide. Eight days later, an unconditional surrender was made by Germany to the Allies.
Hitler's Death
In preparation for death, Hitler had his personal papers destroyed, and both he and his wife's dogs were poisoned with the same capsules they would take. After many good-byes to those also in the bunker, Hitler and his wife went to their rooms and committed suicide, both taking poisonous cyanide capsules, and, for good measure, Hitler shot himself in the head. Hitler and wife's bodies were taking outside and burned after their suicide. What remained of the bodies, mainly a jaw bone with teeth and a piece of skull, both supposedly belonging to Hitler, was afterward was put into a canvas an buried, later to be found by the Soviets.
Conspiracy Theories
Though through much research and interrogation, it is now taught (as a fact) that Hitler died on April 29th, 1945, conspiracy theories abound. One report of the CIA states that a man, closely resembling Hitler named Adolf Schrittlemayor, was living in Caracas, Venezuela, and was suspected to be the supposedly dead Fuhrer. Some think that Hitler fled to the moon in advanced space technology to a top secret Nazi hideout and link UFO and alien activity to the Nazis. Others believe he fled from Germany in a U-boat to a secret military base in Antarctica. There are several theories that involve underground tunnels, an escape plane, and Hitler living out his days underground.
The most common speculation is that Hitler escaped to Argentina on a supposed "ghost convoy" and lived out his days in a luxurious hotel owned by some close friends. The hotel was called The Eden, in La Falda, and was owned by Ida and Walter Eichhorn. After the war, Adolf Eichmann and the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele did make it to Argentina, and two German U-boats arrived there only weeks after the close of WW2. These two facts make this theory possibly the most plausible (or at least understandable) of all.
